On the occasion of marking the anniversary of the devastating earthquake that struck Banja Luka on 27.10.1969, and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the amateur radio club "Nikola Tesla" from Banja Luka, we invite all interested parties to join us at Trg Krajine in Banja Luka on 28.10.2023 from 09h. Our colleagues from the radio club will display the authentic equipment that was used at the time to establish the first communication links after the devastating earthquake and will highlight the importance that amateur radio operators had in establishing communications after the existing infrastructure was destroyed. The stand will feature authentic photographs that have marked our existence, from the founding of the radio club to the present day; authentic radio devices used at the time will also be exhibited, as well as new radio devices we use today.
All interested visitors will be able to see firsthand what it looks like to establish a contact using a radio device, as well as the advantages and innovations of radio technology today. On this occasion, we wish to present to all our citizens and visitors our work over 75 years of existence and the importance of amateur radio operators in society today, as well as the importance of amateur radio operators in the event of natural disasters or similar unfortunate events when all regular means of communication currently available in modern society fail.
