The Role of Amateur Radio Operators in Crisis Situations: Announcement of an Event in Banja Luka

Our members were given the opportunity to announce, on the public service RTRS news, our event which we have been holding in our city, the City of Banja Luka, for the second year in a row. Thanks to good people who recognized our effort and commitment — so that an event such as the one that befell our city is never forgotten, and so that the public and citizens become as familiar as possible with the tragic event that struck Banja Luka on 27 October 1969, as well as with the significance of the assistance provided by two amateur radio clubs from Banja Luka during that period, helping to establish communications at moments when all infrastructure had failed.

In this way we want something like this never to be forgotten, and on this occasion for citizens and other civil organizations to become better acquainted with the technical capabilities that we and other amateur radio clubs can provide and do provide in their local communities in alarming situations, such as: earthquakes, floods, failure of the power grid, failure of the telecommunications network, and all other natural or technical disasters.
