Members of RK Nikola Tesla E73CV, E76TP, E76MD, E73BD, and E75MG took advantage of the first fine days of spring and immediately began work on the Meshtastic network. The previous node, which was also the first one installed in the E74BYZ Meshtastic network, was replaced with a newer and improved solution.
The new node is adapted for operation in demanding conditions — resistant to low temperatures, equipped with an additional battery for autonomous operation, and external temperature and humidity sensors. All these parameters will be available through our monitoring system, further enhancing the supervision and analysis of network operation.
Additionally, the antenna was replaced — an Alfa LoRa HaLow 868MHz 5dBi antenna was installed, and immediately after commissioning, a significant improvement in connection quality and range was observed.
📍 Location and Significance
The node is installed at the Water Supply pumping station on Veseli Brijeg, a location at a higher altitude compared to the city.
Thanks to this position, the node achieves direct connections with most client devices, as well as with key repeater points in the network — the nodes at Nova pijaca and Rakovačke bare.
This location represents one of the most important points in the entire E74BYZ Meshtastic infrastructure.⚙️ Technical Information

🌐 Gateway Role in the Network
This node has a gateway function, meaning it serves as a bridge between the Meshtastic network and the internet.
Through the gateway, data from the mesh network can be sent to external systems, such as monitoring platforms and applications. At the same time, it enables centralized insight into network status and additional management and analysis capabilities.

🔗 Integration and Monitoring
A Raspberry Pi device was additionally installed at the location, through which traffic from the Meshtastic network is forwarded to the internet and further to our internal monitoring system and mesh application.

- real-time network monitoring
- traffic and telemetry analysis
- centralized data collection
- development of advanced network management tools
With the upgrade of the node on Veseli Brijeg, a key step forward has been made in the development of the E74BYZ Meshtastic network.
This location now represents the central backbone of the network — both in terms of coverage and stability, and in terms of integration with monitoring systems and further application development.
Further network development will be focused on expanding coverage, optimizing existing connections, and introducing new functionalities.
